1 2 3 4 5.

"Miss, what tea would you like?"

Tea. Its more than just a beverage to me. I have been drinking tea since the age of 13, and its something that has grown with me.

There were a range of teas to choose from, from new age floral ones to the traditional tie guan ying. I pointed out X tea to the lady. It wasn't my usual beverage but I went ahead with my choice.

I didn't choose X tea because it was particularly flavourful or because it was value for money. I chose it because of the infusion it produces in contact with hot water. Tea was and is meant to be savoured slowly. Let the steam assail your nostrils, the warmth and boldness of the porcelain to infiltrate your fingertips before taking a sip of that brew. After the initial sip, I found it too bland for my palate. I continued sipping it, since I chose that brew anyway. Slowly, I learnt to appreciate its infusion. The strength of its fluidity, the smoothness of its texture and the warmth it left in my belly.

Should I switch to this brew or should I continue with my usual brew?
